Ather Energy is an Indian Electric Vehicle Company manufacturing Electric Scooters (Ather 450 & Ather 450X) and EV charging infrastructure (Ather Grid). The company was founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain and is based in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Ather Energy has received $100+ million funding till now, majorly by Hero Motocorp and Flipkart Co-founders Sachin & Binny Bansal. The company set up its manufacturing in Whitefield, Bangalore which commenced production in 2018 with capacity of 600 vehicles per week. Ather has announced an online-only purchase model for selling the product with doorstep service with sales currently at Bangalore and Chennai only.

It boasts of a 7 inch touchscreen dashboard, and features like on-board navigation, diagnostics, Reverse Gear, all-LED lighting, auto-cancelling indicators, smartphone integration, and cloud connectivity to send and receive data from Ather’s servers.

Ather 450X: Ather 450X Electric Scooter comes with more power and is available in 2 variants. The Ather 450X also boasts of a 7 inch touchscreen dashboard, and features like 1.3 GHz Snapdragon Processor, Reverse Gear, on-board navigation, diagnostics, all-LED lighting, auto-cancelling indicators, smartphone integration, auto turn off indicators and cloud connectivity to send and receive data from Ather’s servers.

Ather Grid: Ather has set up its own EV charging network named as Ather Grid, in Bangalore & Chennai, and are planning to expand the same in other cities. Ather also sets up a home charging point at customer’s homes which can charge the Ather 450 to 80% in 2 hours 40 minutes and to 100% in 4 hours 18 minutes.
