BluSmart is an Electric vehicle mobility startup by Gensol Mobility, a subsidiary of Ahmedabad-based renewable energy services provider, Gensol Group. It offers a variety of services like ride-hailing, car-sharing, and shared charging, all on a single platform.
Blusmart was launched in January 2019 by four partners namely:
- Anmol Singh Jaggi – who founded the Gensol group in 2007
- Dr. Uma Kant – a former IAS officer, and ex Principal Secretary, Power, Uttarakhand government
- Kiran Patil – who had been the Country Head & Managing Director, India, at a German Renewable Energy Firm with an experience of over 25 years in manufacturing
- Punit Goyal – India’s top renewable technology professional.
The firm describes itself as “India’s first all-electric shared smart mobility platform for efficient, affordable, intelligent, and sustainable transportation.” The all-electric mobility platform works in association with Mahindra Electric. Mahindra & Mahindra provides its e-Verito electric sedan across specific routes.
How BluSmart’s EV car-sharing platform works
As a car-sharing platform, BluSmart would allow the leasing or subscribing to an electric vehicle. To avail the ride-sharing or cab service, customers can book cabs through the ‘BluSmart Mobility‘ app on their smartphones (both iOS and Android) or call the booking number for intra-city and inter-city commutes. The company shared that their smart cabs enable them to offer a seamless experience to the customers. The smart electric cabs support cashless payments. The founders say, “BluSmart is not a competition to current app-based cab services, but a mere greener alternative to them. The company claims that its drivers will never refuse a ride.” BluSmart also promises shared travel solutions that are surge-price-free.
BluSmart’s ride-sharing platform provides affordable pricing, premium all-electric sedans and SUVs, intelligent mobility service on-demand, highly rated drivers, shorter wait time, and zero cancellations from drivers. Speaking on the success of the business, Punit K Goyal, Co-founder, BluSmart, said, “BluSmart is a new mobility player providing sustainable urban mobility for customers. We could serve over 20,000 customers in just three months after the launch in the Delhi-NCR region and aim to serve more millions of customers in the coming future”
The three key areas that the all-electric smart mobility platform focuses on are zero-emission mobility, zero surge mobility, and zero cancellation mobility. These are believed to be the factors that make BluSmart different from the other cab services available in the market. They aim to build a comprehensive shared mobility platform that is holistic, smart, all-electric, and available on-demand while covering the entire value chain of smart mobility, smart charging, and smart parking.
Charging infrastructure of BluSmart
Another offering by BluSmart’s e-mobility solutions is that they have set up a host of charging stations. Each one of the outlets is capable of 15-20kW DC fast charging and uses the Bharat DC charging standard. Be it cab aggregators or a private EV owner, anyone can use the charging stations after paying a stipulated fee.
BluSmart is the country’s first 100% electric mobility platform in partnership with the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers and uses cutting-edge mobility technologies to make it an era of smart urban electric mobility for consumers. It aims to encourage the adoption of affordable shared electric mobility and enhance the safety level and quality of life in the cities.
“BluSmart is helping to reduce traffic volumes and pollution to make cities – healthier and more livable – with its zero-emission smart urban mobility service. We are transforming cities by providing convenient, sustainable and affordable mobility with great benefits for consumers, businesses and society,” Anmol Singh Jaggi, Co-founder, BluSmart shared.
